Inno Roof Rack Review - 2014 Volkswagen Passat

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2014 Volkswagen Passat, we're gonna be test-fitting the Inno aero roof rack system. As you can see, these crossbars have a nice aerodynamic shape to them, so it's gonna cut down on wind noise and drag while you're driving. Seeing this rubber strip up here is gonna let us know we can utilize T-track accessories while we have this installed. You would simply just take off this end cap, and instead of having to remove the rubber strip, like in a lot of systems, you simply just push down right there, insert whatever accessory you might have, and it simply just slides across into place. So there's no cutting involved, you don't have to repurchase any type of rubber strip. Works just like that. more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

Alright, today on a 2011 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System using the Crossroads Foot Packs and AeroBlade bars. We're going to take the front crossbar and place it onto the vehicle. You want to check your owner's manual, check the weight limitation and the proper spacing for the measurement for your crossbars. We'll start by squaring them up with a non-point on the roof rack and then we'll move from there to the leading edge of the foot pack, then we'll go ahead and tighten it down. The foot pack comes with a tool to tighten them down and when you're down, it will store inside the foot pack. Put the front bar tightened down, we'll get and install the rear bar. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagon, we'll be installing a Thule Crossroads Roof Rack System. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so we're ready to mount them up on the factory rate side rails. First, we're going to set the front crossbar into position. We're going to make sure that the bar is overhanging the feet evenly on both sides of the rack. We also need to make sure that the bar is running perpendicular to factory rate side rails so we're going to find a fixed point on our side rails and measure to the edge of the Crossroads to make sure that we're even on both sides so that we know that we're running perpendicular. One the side of the Crossroad feet, there's a small triangle that indicates the center of the foot and we want to make sure that that's pointed towards the center of our factory rate side rails. more

Let's go ahead and install it on the vehicle and see what it looks like. First, we'll open up the front doors and install the front bar. Ok, before we can tighten down our car rack, we're going to need to measure out 10 and a quarter inches from the edge of the door frame to the center of our foot pack of our front crossbar, and then we'll go ahead and tighten them down. And tightening down your crossbar is going to be a two-step process. more

Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagon, we're going to be installing a Thule Crossroad and AeroBlade Roof Rack System. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and now we're ready to mount them up on our vehicle. First, we're going to install the crossbar assemblies up on top of our factory raised side rails. The Crossroad fit has a rubber coated steel band that's going to wrap around our factory raised side rails to secure a new system. Once we've laid the crossbar assembly up on top of our side rails, we need to check to make sure it's positioned correctly. We want to make sure that the overhang on either side of the Crossroad foot is even and we also want to make sure that our AeroBlade bar is running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. more

Rhino Rack SXB Roof Rack Installation - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagon we will be installing a Rhino-Rack Roof Rack, part number SXB3. We already have our cross mounts put together, and we are ready to mount them up on top of our vehicle. This system is designed to attach to our factory raised side rails so there is not specific cross bar spread that we need to setup for. However, you may want to check the owners manual or the instructions for whatever accessories you will be using to see if they have a required cross bar spread. You need to make sure that the Rhino Rack cross bars run perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. To do this we will find a fixed point on the side rails and measure from there to the end of the clamp on the bottom of our Rhino Rack bar. more
